So I am on sportscardsforum.com and I say on a post that I have a $25 Vanilla Visa Gift card for sale. These are what happens through the PM.
DA (dumbass): Hey, I'm interested in your gift card, what is the lowest you would take? thanks
Me: I would do $28 dlvd. (This is a good deal, as these are selling for more than $30 on eBay)
DA: its only got $25 on it (im selling dont you think I know how much is on it?)
Me: Yes, but there is a $3.95 activation fee for it so if you were to go to the store and buy it this would cost $28.95. Then you factor in a stamp and $28 seems reasonable. I actually listed this on eBay last week and it sold for $29, but I the winner didn't end up wanting it. Please let me know either way.
DA: I would do $19 (are you a fucking idiot?!?)
Me: I think I will pass on that, since it basically has a cash value of $25 and these normally sell for about $4 more than that. Do you actually think I am going to accept $19 by the way?
DA: i was doing you a favor by giving you actual cash. yeah they sell for that at a retail store, because they have to make money. (somehow im not entitled to make money?) did you actually think i was going to give you more than the card is worth? the activation fee is something you have to eat. no one is going to give $28 for a $25 card, it just doesnt make sense. and when you sell giftcards they sell for lower, other wise the people might as well use cash and pay, because they are just wasting time.
Me: Actually, I feel I must correct you. Normal gift cards to let's say Barnes & Noble do not sell for face value. But Visa gift cards generally sell for $3-$4 over the price. That is a fact. How come thousands of people on eBay are willing to pay more than $25 but you still say nobody will? I'm sorry, but why would I want to sell this for anything less than $25.44? If not, I would be losing money. And for gosh sakes, it's selling for $10 more than what you offered and this is a Vanilla Visa which is better it seems. I understand that you might not know the going price for Visa gift cards, so no problems.
Conclusion: Does this guy think I'm flat out stupid?
